I was lucky enough to go with my husband to a conference at the weekend on the beautiful island of Langkawi, in Malaysia.
I have done so little sketching and painting of late, I felt very hesitant with pen and aquabrush, but got as far as recording the view from our room on one of those Daler-Rowney watercolour postcards. I may send it to our hosts to thank them .. or try a few in colour first, perhaps.

I'm proud of you for managing to fit some sketching into your wonderful and very full weekend - this is a really lovely sketch, the loose foreground foliage, the dark background forms and the delicate sky and distant hills make a great basis for more paintings. Your hosts would love this, if you can bear to part with it!
Thanks Cath! You have made me feel much better about it.Such a small bit of drawing in such a long time!
Oh wow - this is lovely, V. You've captured this exotic place beautifully - even in black & white it looks magical. Would love to see more in colour. I agree with C - well done on getting some sketching done.
Gorgeous scene, Vivienne! I agree with Cathy about the great way you handled the foliage ... It's so lush.
It's great in B&W, but I'd love to see it in color too!!
