Babysitting

Talk about quick sketches!

Henry does not keep still for a second, even while asleep. Matthias was sick and sore that day after having his tonsils etc out. He was sitting watching endless repeats of Thomas the Tank Engine, playing with a little hoop, hence the funny shape. My drawings are not great, but that is what the blog thing is about. The baby with 2 eyes is not Henry .. just trying to picture what a baby in one spot might look like!

Oh these are wonderful - what a delight to have babies to draw again (and not be the mother who has to catch them?!)Henry is obviously a very busy little chap, and you've captured the slightly under-the-weather poses of poor Matthius - hope he feels better soon!

But now they have gone to Zambia, where there are also power problems. What a shambles.
I miss having the family next door so much.
I wish I had done more drawing while they were here. I have only just been inspired by The Blog.

Those are beautiful, Viv. I too feel sad I didn't do more sketching of my children when they were little... After seeing Cath's of Ali - & Adam's of his little ones. Is it a good idea to draw from photographs? Of course snaps are usually full face or ¾ face - or we wait for a moment of stillness and CLICK. The lovely fluid movement of a babe crawling lends itself to sketching, photos seldom capture that, so aren't ideal for interesting drawing. But they are there to use (as a reference??) and that is a comfort - since it's all history now!
